A While Ago

Peace. Looking up at the stars have never been so beautiful.
A refreshing taste of eternity,
of a momentary lapse of struggle.

A stillness in the night lends well to his thoughts.
In silence,
his mind adjusts,
clicking to the meshes of a new wave.

Excitement comes easily now,
he knows the journey has brought him
Yet madness flows about,
eager to return and end the crown of ecstasy.

He humors himself, recalls the days spent toiling,
The light of our lives flickers,
and waning

In fright,
we are unable to grasp and be content in our full potential brightness.
We continue to flicker, to wane, to fade.
