I was once there,
Over the hill,
Under the valley,
But there was never a thought,
Simply done, did, over.
And so I have returned,
Found something previously unfound,
But was it what I was looking for?
Perhaps, sold to many.
And so we start anew,
To forge a new day,
Past the memories of old,
And how bold we have gone in our direction,
Tasting the sweetness of rancor we are emboldened,
And so we continue,
Until again, we watch the stars together.
Let’s grow old together,
Forget our duties,
Up upon the summit lies a grand treasure,
A treasure so valuable, so unmistakably worthwhile that everyone attempts to climb the summit.
Reaching the top, smitten with fatigue, those that have gone through the journey are relieved,
This is the grand day, the day they claim something they’ve wanted for a long time,
Promptly, they’ve forgotten everything they once cared about.
What does it matter anymore? But how wrong they could have been.
So alone at the top with no way down, they sit, ponder.
And eventually succumb to their own deaths.
