Random Thoughts of a Frustrated Young Adult

This is for myself.  I know that may sound selfish, but it’s true.  I’m in this for myself, and I’m doing this for myself.   I’m talking about writing right now, but you can generalize that to everything.  All you really have is yourself.

I’m sorry, that sounds really negative, but in a sense it’s completely true.  Whether you’re a thinker or feeler, whether you’re trapped in your own head or focused on observing the outside world, whether you’re introverted or extroverted, whether you’re looking for options or simply committing to something, you are alone.

And it’s beautiful.  It makes every genuine, real, human connection 100x better.  It makes every laugh with your family, friends, and strangers 200x better.  Why?  Because you’re all alone.  (If you haven’t caught on I’m using alone abstractly, in other words, you can be alone even when you’re surrounded by people).

This is your life to live.  No one is going to live it for you.  The decisions you make are completely yours.  I guess what I’m really trying to say is there is no right pathway to life.  If you’re content living a modest life, so be it.  If you want to watch TV all day, play video-games, so be it.  But at the end of the day, just ask yourself what you’ll really want.  Take a second and ask yourself what you’ll want 10 years down the line, 20 years down the line, before you die.  Is what you want then different from what you want now?  Maybe you’ve heard this before already.  Maybe what I’m saying is pointless to you.  Hell, I don’t even think this type of motivational advice/whatever this is works.  All I know is it takes time.  But if that is the case, why are you reading this?  This is for myself.
